BRIEF

In 2021, SIX60 SATURDAYS was set to be the largest tour not only in New Zealand, but the world. We worked with Six60 and Eccles Entertainment to showcase their tour to the globe. Prior to each show we travelled to various regions around New Zealand to produce a documentary series on the band, connecting with each region and its people. The series was labelled “SIX60 UNSEEN” and each episode was hosted on the band’s social channels as well as played at each show on the IMAG screens.

To end the tour, Six60 announced a one-off concert at Auckland’s Eden Park. This would be the first time a band would play at this historic venue and we were tasked by Six60 and Eden Park to produce imagery to remember this first-time event. We worked with Pasifika TV and Live Nation to broadcast the show across 12 countries in the Pacific Islands, as well as digital platforms.

This broadcast was viewed live by over 1 million people and our coverage was used by various national and international news outlets including BBC, The Guardian, Forbes and Billboard.

EXECUTION

Our core team consisted of an aerial crew, photographers and cinematographers. Each show had its own unique setup and challenges to overcome, especially when it came to safe and legal aerial operations. Through tight pre-production and planning we overcame these difficulties, and worked with the show production crew, local council and government to conduct a safe environment which enabled us to capture shots that had never been attempted before in New Zealand by a drone crew.

For the Eden Park show we brought in a 12 foot crowd jib, heavy lift drone and slider, each housing a C500MKII setup.

We worked directly with Six60 to plan each location for the Unseen episodes, and timeline and story for each city/town. Putting hours into pre-production allowed us to understand and execute each show without a hitch.
